Budget Skills That Stick

Most people panic when asked to create an event budget from scratch. Where do you start? What gets forgotten?

We break down the actual process. You'll learn how to estimate venue costs, track vendor expenses, and spot where money tends to disappear. No fluff or theory—just practical methods you can use right away.

Classes begin September 2025 with weekend options available.

How We Structure Learning

1

Foundation Week

Start with the basics: creating line items, categorizing expenses, and understanding typical event cost structures. You'll build your first practice budget during this week.

2

Real Scenarios

Work through case studies based on actual events. See what went wrong, what went right, and how to avoid common mistakes that blow budgets out of proportion.

3

Tracking Methods

Learn different approaches to monitor spending during an event. Some prefer spreadsheets, others use apps—we show you both so you can pick what fits your style.

4

Final Project

Create a complete budget for a fictional event, present it to the group, and get feedback. This becomes part of your portfolio for future opportunities.

Before this course, I'd estimate costs based on guesswork. Now I actually know where to look for accurate pricing and how to build in realistic contingencies. The instructor's examples from real events made everything click.
